What is Shabbat?

Shabbat is the seventh day of the week, celebrated in the Jewish tradition as a day of rest. It begins just before sunset on Friday and ends just after sundown on Saturday when three stars are visible in the night sky. It’s a 25-hour work and tech break! Learn more here: A Day Apart: Shabbat

Can I change my order once it’s been placed?

We strive to provide you with the best customer experience. Depending on where we are in the order preparation and shipping process, just reach out, and we will do our best to help you. If your order has already shipped, we will not be able to change it. If you have questions regarding your order, contact us here.

I am not particularly observant. Can I still participate?

Yes! Shabbat is for everyone. Whether you are very observant, “Jew-ish” or not Jewish at all, we invite you to celebrate Shabbat with us. Our tools and Shabbat Guidebook are designed specifically to help educate and include everyone.

How do I know which Torah portion/Conversation Card to use this week?

This requires a bit of explanation.  Judaism follows a lunar calendar. Each week the same portion of the Torah is read by Jews everywhere; there are 54 portions in all (2 weeks have 2 portions just to keep you on your toes). 

To demystify this, we’ve numbered the Conversation Cards 1–54 corresponding to the weekly Torah portion. Find the relevant Torah portion by following @oneg.home on social media. Once our product ships, we will let you know what card to use each week as well.

What are the shipping rates?

The shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on your delivery address. You may select standard USPS or upgrade to expedited shipping with UPS.

When will my Shabbat Box ship?

We want to bring the joy of Oneg to you or your gift recipient as soon as possible. Our goal is to ship all orders within 2-4 business days of purchasing.

My tracking information shows the order was delivered, but I did not receive it. What should I do?

We’re sorry to hear you’re having trouble receiving your order! Since the package was marked as delivered, there are a few steps we suggest taking. Occasionally, packages are marked as delivered before they are physically at your address. Please allow 24 hours following a delivery confirmation before assuming that there is an issue.

1. Double-check around your mailbox, the perimeter of your house, your mailing center or any other places the delivery driver could have left your package. Sometimes the delivery driver will put your package in a safe "hidden" spot to prevent theft.

2. Contact the shipping carrier and try to gather additional information on where the delivery driver may have left your package.

Is there a chance one of your neighbors mistakenly collected your package?

You have up to 5 days after an item is marked as delivered to report your missing package. Oneg is not responsible for lost packages reported beyond 5 days post-delivery. Please ensure that you provide a valid shipping address that is attended during the day if your mail area is not secure.


Can I change or cancel my order?

Once your order leaves for the Promised Land (your location), we won’t be able to change or cancel it. But, contact us and tell us what’s going on.

Can I return my order?

We’re confident you’ll love it, but unused products can of course be returned.  Contact us for details.

My order arrived damaged. What should I do?

Oh no! Let’s get that fixed! We will talk to the delivery folks and get a replacement to you ASAP.  As a first step, please contact us with your order number, damage details and any relevant photos showing the damage within 5 days of receiving your order.

Oops. I broke one of the items in my box. Do you offer replacements?

Contact us here and we might have items in stock for you to purchase individually.


Do you offer gift wrapping?

Great question, because the Shabbat Box is a great gift! The contents of our Shabbat Box are packed in a beautifully designed, sturdy white box with a magnetic closure that makes for a wonderful gift giving experience! We do not offer additional gift wrapping options at this time for our Shabbat Box or our accessories; however, we’ve designed a beautiful gift card on which you can include a personalized message that we’ll handwrite for your special recipient.

Can I include a card? 

Yes, and we’ll handwrite your personal gift message. 

Do you sell gift cards?
